Getting a new book

Kris followed. "So what which books have not been read or checked out since.....that day?"

Miia pulled a small book off of a shelf and flipped through it. "There are several books in this section..." Moving along the shelves, she kept reading the book, not looking up when she pulled certain books off the shelf and handing them to Kris.

"I have no clue what I'm looking for..." He looked at Miia. "I think I have a better idea, what are the books that Rachael..or whatever her name is, checked out before or a few days after the incident?"

Sighing, Miia said, "We have to look in some of these books to figure that out. We don't have a database that shows us who has checked out what since we don't know her card number."

Kris let out a small sigh. "Great...nothing is ever easy...." He gave out little laugh as he set the books down and began to look through them.

Bringing over another stack, Rowan started to go through them as Miia came over and helped them. "Of course nothing is ever easy," Miia laughed.

Damon continued to look through the books. He jumped up and held a untitled book in his hands. "What was the date and does it match?" He handed the book over to Miia.

"May 21st..." Miia whispered, her finger scanning down the book. Her eyebrows furrowed and she said, "I've read this book. Its all about ghosts and other mythical creatures."

"So....no go?" He sat back down and opened more books and continued to pile them in a pile he named 'The no good pile'.

Sitting back in her chair, Miia glanced down at the names and whispered, "No... She did check out this book after Rowan died..."

"Now...." He continued to skim through more books. "If she checked out any before...."

Rowen looked through several and shook his head. "I didn't find any..."

"Well....She could have checked out a few books from the other sections...." He continued to look through his stack of books.

Miia shook her head and handed Kris a book about mass murderers in the past ten years. "There is a chapter in there about a girl who killed the boy she had a crush on cause he liked someone else."

"Does it name names?" He looked the pages and skimmed it quickly.

She nodded and said, "It also describes how the murder was carried out... but from what I remember, it doesn't have any connection to how Rowan was killed."

"Well..." He handed the book to Rowan and sat back. "Read up...this might trigger something."

Rowan nodded and started to read, searching for something... anything that may help.

Kris let out a sigh and looked up to the ceiling, thinking deep in thought about anything that might help.

Suddenly, a memory flashed through his mind and he fell back, dropping the book. He squeeked as he fell, hitting the ground hard.

"What was that about?" Kris got up and tried to help Rowan up.

Rowan stumbled up and whispered, "A large knife... hunter's knife..."

"Anything else?" Kris was standing behind him, with a concerned look on his face.

Rowan cluched his chest and he started to cough. Miia grabbed his other arm and led him back to the room in the back.

"What....?" Kris stood there and was in a state of 'what the heck was that about'. He started to place the books back on the shelf.
